Download Game Pot Shot for Nokia 5800 N97 X6 5530 5230 and N8

Pot Shot is a very unique game for Symbian^3 and Symbian S60 5th edition touch screen phones. Its an age old game practiced across India in different variation. In this version of the game, you have to break the pot by using the arrows on your mobile screen.

The blue arrow button on the screen indicates the arrow you must use next. Use the virtual buttons to break the pot. Hit the button 4 times consecutively as indicated by the blue button to break the pot. Break 10 pots to complete a level.

Pot Shot is a Java game developed by NextWave Multimedia. The game works with Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, N97, N97 Mini, X6, 5228, 5230, 5233, 5235, 5530 XpressMusic, N8, E7, C6 and C7. The game-play is extremely simple and funny. You will enjoy this game on your mobile.

Samsung Propel SGH A767

The Propel has a similar design to that of the Verizon Wireless Blitz. They both have a somewhat square shape, and both slide up to reveal a QWERTY keyboard. The similarities end there, however. Measuring 3.85 inches long by 2.33 inches wide by 0.58 inch thick, the Propel is much thinner than the Blitz, with a flatter front design. Though it is slightly bowed on the left and right side, the Propel is also much less curvy than its competitor.

So while the Blitz appears cute and cuddly, the Propel is more lean and mean. The Samsung Propel has a slide out QWERTY keyboard. On the front of the Propel is a nice 2.2 inch display with support for only 65,000 colors, which is quite a disappointment by our standards. The screen looks decent enough, but colors looked muted and dull. The menu interface is typical Samsung and is easy to use.

You can adjust the backlight time, the dialing font (type, size, color, and background color), brightness, and the menu style.

The navigation array consists of two skinny soft keys, a round toggle with a middle confirmation key, a dedicated text message key, a Clear key, and the Talk and End or Power keys.

The round toggle can be pressed in four directions, each of which doubles as four user defined shortcuts. The middle confirmation key also acts as a shortcut to the Web browser.

Though the two soft keys are raised above the surface, the rest of the keys are completely flat (with the exception of the round toggle).

We didnt like the feel of the flat slippery keys and wouldve liked a bit more texture. The Samsung Propel has a 1.3 megapixel camera lens next to a self portrait mirror. Slide the phone open and youll reveal a full QWERTY keyboard. The keyboard didnt feel either cramped or roomy sort of somewhere in between.

The individual keys, however, were small and felt quite slippery we wouldve preferred a bit more grip or texture on the keys. Aside from the typical function and Caps or Shift keys, the keyboard also has dedicated keys for the camera, AT&Ts Cellular Video service, and the phones sound profile.

The left spine of the Propel is home to a volume rocker and microSD card slot, while the right spine is home to a charger jack as well as a Shortcuts key. The Shortcuts key toggles between the phone, the messaging menu, the Media Net browser, the music player, and the games and applications folder. When the phone is slid open, youll find the camera lens and self portrait mirror on the back.

Download Application Mosquito Repeller for Nokia 5800 and X6

Mosquito Repeller is an application that tries to repel mosquitoes using high frequency sounds. Though some studies found this method ineffective you may still try this for yourself. Some mosquitoes may not react all to this app, but you may still try.

You can vary the frequency using the slider. The frequency ranges from 14,000 Hz to 24,000 Hz. Take care though of the phone speakers as high frequency sounds are quite an exertion. This application is fun for testing your hearing sensitivity for high frequencies. Enjoy it!

The application is developed by G Soft for Symbian^3, Symbian Anna, Symbian Belle and Symbian S60 5th edition based touchscreen mobiles from Nokia such as Nokia N8, E7, C6, C7, 5800 XpressMusic, N97, N97 Mini, X6, 5228, 5230, 5233, 5235 and 5530 XpressMusic. The application requires INTERNET connection on your mobile as its an ad supported app. The version 1.1 of this app is available to download.

Mobile networks to confuse the market with Tizen

Ever since Samsung announced they will be bringing Tizen to the masses as soon as MWC, the level of interest has increases incredibly. We all like to see something new however Tizen is nothing but a massive trojan horse which will disrupt the market and could give ultimate control of where you buy some handsets. Im talking about Orange, +Vodafone and DoCoMo.

What Samsung have done is create an end to end list of partners from hardware, software and network that could see their products championed quite quickly because each process of the production cycle will offer a piece of the dollar pie. So would this mean for example, a double payday for Vodafone in the event of selling a +Tizen Association based handset, which then renders sales into an unethical mess because Samsung, Vodafone / Orange / DoCoMo depending on your geographic, will be ramming Tizen down your neck like some kind of vet giving a tablet to a Rhino.

+Sony used the consortium to push Blu Ray(only one of 2 formats outside of digital), as have many eastern companies because they never like making choices on their own because failure brings so much shame. Sony gave everyone a slice of the pie but what happened to Blu Ray, I think it was 2 years too late but with 4k round the corner those large movies wont be available to stream or download anytime soon in many parts of the UK and Europe as most are stuck on slugband.

While some would champion Samsungs vision to do this, it does mean there will be a whole load of people who could end up buying a dead duck. Many many iOS owners couldnt make the jump to Android as they have invested too much into App Store, same for Android owners going the other way, but the thing that worries me is those who dont have awareness of what they are buying, they get a dose of Tizen and lose out on their purchases and then begs the question about app support, oh thats why Samsung have the smart watch out running Tizen, sure it doesnt matter which OS your watch runs right, I agree with that, however its being used as a dev kit of sorts so some get try out their apps before a general phone release.

Blackberry died because it didnt keep with the times, but it was much more than that, having 3 major platforms is too much of any market. There is only really two types of fuel, derv or petrol. Desktop you have Mac or Windows, I can think of so many instances both in and out of the technology sector.

My point is the third option is almost always an also ran. Windows Mobile is already the 3rd OS for mobile, electric is the other option to dev or petrol - you can say LPG too but who uses that. TV options you have 3 - satellite, cable or aerial. Any Linux distro is another option to the desktop while Chrome has started to gain traction.

I cant see Tizen being much more than an also ran option 3 or 4, but if the powers of the greedy networks rather than +Samsung Mobile  are wanting to get in on the mobile platform game, then it could mean iOS and Android are in for a ruff ride at the point of sale. My advice is avoid Tizen, its just a trojan horse for the mobile networks to control more of your wallet, your mind and your soul (ok a bit dramatic).

Have OUYA gone a little DOYA Adverts that fail OUYA Respond

Heres an actual OUYA ad I think? Im not sure. Its kind of gross and very Klasky Csupo in terms of animation. Not sure if this is how OUYA should go marketing-wise, but at least its different.

*Update:* Im certain now that I dont like it. Its needlessly-vulgar and feels like an impressionists take on Internet-centric animation, but unlike similar channels like Egoraptor or Fox ADHD, this isnt entertaining! It also fails as an advertisement, not explaining anything about the OUYA or why its great.

EDIT : "Genny" the OUYA Rep has responded to the video with this ....

Hi Everyone, a statement on the video: "This is not our official ad. We are experimenting with animated content and posted this video briefly to get feedback from our community. Stay tuned for our official video."

IHAG Blog would like to know how this experiment got to YouTube and the public in the first place.

LG Neon AT T

LG Neon (AT&T) is an attractive phone, with smooth rounded corners, clean lines, and a compact form factor. Measuring 4 inches long by 2 inches wide by 0.66 inch thick, LG Neon (AT&T) is quite lightweight at 3.81 ounces. Its slim enough to fit in the pocket and feels good in the hand. The sliding mechanism is smooth yet sturdy. On the front of the phone is a glossy black finish featuring a lovely 2.4 inch display with support for 262.000 colors and a 240x320 resolution. Images look great on it and the text is very legible as well.

You can adjust the backlight time, the brightness, the font size of the menu text and the dialing digits, the menu styles, and the appearance of the clock on the home screen. LG Neon has a touch screen but only for the number keypad. The most unusual thing about the Neons display is that it is a touch screen but only for the phone dialer application. When you press a phone dialer key on the navigation array, a virtual number keypad will show up on the display. You can then dial a number by tapping the digits on the screen.

You can also set it so that the phone vibrates whenever your touch registers, plus you can adjust the intensity of the vibration. As we said, though, the display is only a touch screen for dialing numbers; all other functions need to be done via physical keys. We werent so pleased with this we would rather have a full touch screen interface, or a real physical number keypad, not something in between.

Underneath the display is the navigation array, which consists of two soft keys, a four way toggle with a middle confirmation key, the Send and End and Power keys, the Clear or Back key, and the aforementioned phone dialer key. The toggle can be mapped to four user defined shortcuts, and the middle confirmation key brings up the Web browser when in standby mode. On the left spine of the phone is the volume rocker and dedicated camera key, while the microSD card slot and headset or charger jack sit on the right spine. On the back is the camera lens and self portrait mirror. LG Neon has a full QWERTY keyboard.

Turn the phone 90 degrees to your right, slide the phone up, and youll find a full QWERTY keyboard. The screen will automatically change orientation from portrait to landscape mode. The keyboard has two soft keys on the far left and right side, an orange Function key, a Symbol key, plus an OK or Back button on the bottom right. Even though the keys are laid out in only three rows as opposed to the four rows of keys on the LG Xenon, the Neon keyboard still felt spacious with plenty of room between each key. The keys are all raised above the surface and feel easy to type.

Living with the Sony Xperia Z1 pt 3

There maybe trouble ahead

Having been much more impressed with the battery now its been through a few recharge cycles, we managed to get 14hrs from the Z1 with around 5hrs of screen time.

Although a couple of issues have started to pop up,

- STAMINA mode doesnt seem to be 100% reliable, the same way it wasnt in the original Z

- The heat generated by the handset is phenomenal, at one point the top half of the back and front were almost untouchable after downloading a movie from SEN.

The issue with STAMINA mode on the last Sony handset was that it didnt always kick in if it couldnt end an app, however at least it had the decency to tell you its not working. Even if you couldnt do anything about it. You have no idea this new version is working or not other than the icon at the top of the screen, a test would be quite nice to have as an option.

Heat generated from the Z1 has caused us a few problems with the cover we have on it. Its well. Melting the cover slightly. We are assuming this will be fixed in a firmware update.

One thing we have noticed over the last week is how slippy this handset is, get some decent insurance because it has next to zero traction on a surface. It doesnt grip on a car seat, a sofa of any material, wooden tables or coffee tables. Another reason for it to have a cover not only to stop the glass smashing to bits, fingerprint prevention and stopping the Z1 from being uber slippy.

Oh and get good insurance !!!

Samsung Omnia II Verizon Wireless

Like many of the touch screen smartphones available today, Samsung Omnia II (Verizon Wireless) has a candy bar design but it is slightly on the bulkier side at 4.69 inches tall by 2.35 inches wide by 0.52 inch thick and weighing 4.76 ounces. However, theres good reason for the extra size and thats the gorgeous 3.7 inch WVGA (800x480 pixels) AMOLED touch screen. When compared with the first Omnia and other touch screen smartphones, videos and photos look amazing on Samsung Omnia II (Verizon Wireless).

It has a smoother picture, wider viewing angles, and higher contrast. Also, a built-in accelerometer changes the screen orientation when you rotate the phone for certain applications like the Web browser, messages, photos, and video. Also, while the smartphones touch screen is resistive and requires a bit more pressure than a capacitive touch screen to move among various home screen panes, we found it quite responsive and didnt require the precision of a stylus to select items.

We should note that the touch screen was a bit temperamental when we first used it, but after realigning the screen with the stylus, everything was fine. Below the display, you get Talk and End or Power keys and a Main Menu key (more on this later). There is an OK button, but its on the left side of the phone along with the 3.5 mm headphone jack and volume rocker. The microSD expansion slot is also located on this side but youll have to remove the stylish red battery door to access it.

On the right spine, youll find the stylus, a Micro-USB port, a lock key, and a camera activation or capture button. Last but not least, the camera and flash are located on the back. The only thing we missed was having a back button for returning to the previous screen, since an on screen option wasnt always available. While the physical aspects of Samsung Omnia II (Verizon Wireless) arent radically different from the competition, the smartphones does have some unique "design" features are beneath the surface.

For one thing, it offers an on screen portrait and landscape QWERTY keyboard with Swype technology, which Webware previewed a while back. Instead of pecking at individual keys, Swype lets spell out a word by dragging your finger on the keyboard from letter to letter. Swypes algorithm then does its best to figure out what word youre trying to input it also automatically enters a space after you complete a word and includes certain tricks, such as circling a key to input a letter twice. Admittedly, we were very skeptical of Swype.

However, to our surprise, it worked and was mostly accurate. We ran into some problems when entering terms that werent true words, such as an IM handle, though Swype will try to come up a list of possible results. It also takes some adjustment to enter long words since you have keep your finger on the screen the whole time. Still, we were always amazed when it came up with the correct word. Samsung also completely redid the main menu page. Pressing the menu key below the display will bring up a grid view of all your phones apps. There 12 icons per page and each page is customizable so you can rearrange the apps in the order you want.

All you have to do is press the Edit button on the bottom of the screen and at that point you can move the icons to any position on any menu page. Pages will be added as you add more applications to your phone, and you can move among pages by swiping your finger left to right or vice versa. Right next to the Edit button is one of our favorite additions the new Task Switcher function. This feature shows you all your running applications in thumbnail visuals and lets you easily switch between tasks, exit out of an app, or end all running programs. It alleviates one of the biggest problems of Windows Mobile, which was multitasking. In fact, TouchWiz 2.0 in general does a good job making the OS more easy to use, so much so you can hardly tell its a Windows Mobile smartphone.

Finally, like the Samsung Behold II, Samsung Omnia II (Verizon Wireless) offers the 3D cube interface for the phones various multimedia capabilities. However, unlike the Behold II, there is also a toolbar on the where you can launch the same entertainment apps with a simple tap, which is much more functional than the gimmicky cube. Overall, TouchWiz 2.0 makes much more sense and is more useful on Samsung Omnia II (Verizon Wireless) than the Behold II, as it provides the customization abilities that Windows Mobile lacks and offers a much more intuitive user interface.

Happy New Year to all our readers

What a 2013 its been, back in Jan we moved from Tumblr to Blogger, and since then we have moved on from strength to strength.

Having seen many new gadgets arrive from +Kickstarter - +Google Glass getting additional features and gaining momentum plus many other developments in wearable tech. Later this year (2013) we had started to work on our own internal projects, we are working on hosting a +ROCKI party which will happen soon - not to mention a special announcement.

Wired Madonna Officially Out Of Ideas

Madonna picsIn addition to revealing that Justin Timberlake would present her to the public at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, Madonna let slip the title of her forthcoming album, which comes out on April 29: Its going to be called Hard Candy, just like that nail polish line and that old Ellen Page movie, and itll also have a track called "Candy Store."

According to Madonnas long-suffering publicist Liz Rosenberg, Madge "loves candy ... [The title is] about the juxtaposition of tough and sweetness, or as Madonna so eloquently expressed Im gonna kick your ass, but its going to make you feel good." Thats the type of personal-trainer-derived talk that almost makes you pine for the days of Licorice! Maybe Madonna figures that shes being transgressive in this lollipop-girl era by admitting that she actually eats junk food in her new albums title?

WebOS on PCs will be an integrated experience

Web OS
HP blocked its recent "Think Beyond" event with a extraordinary announcement that webOS would be coming to PCs. How, accurately, the company considered on doing that has been a mystery. The Seattle Times just interviewed HPs CTO, Phil McKinney, who helped put to rest some premature speculation that HP would be dumping Microsoft Windows in favor of webOS while adding some clarity to its webOS on the whole thing plan. According to Phil, people still want an OS appropriate to PCs, tablets, and smartphones with webOS pulling it all together by "taking the existing operating systems and bringing WebOS onto those platforms and making it universal across all of our footprint." That doesnt signify that webOS will run as a virtualized instance within Windows. Phil says, "its not virtualization. Its an integrated WebOS experience were looking to bring." He then adds, "Were working with Microsoft on the future of Windows and were very optimistic on what that future is, but what we think is we can bring an enhancement to that." The goal is to create a large device footprint that makes webOS a very good-looking platform to developers -- "you can build up your WebOS app thatll run on your phone, your slate and your PC," according to McKinney. Hmm, apparently HP didnt get the Elopcalypse memo about the "three-horse race" that considers HPs and RIMs ecosystems irrelevant. Source

Dell Inspiron 1420

This $799 retail configuration, called the Inspiron 1420-123B, offers a reasonable mix of components, including 3GB of RAM, but lacks the updated features found on Dells latest 15 inch Inspirons, including touch sensitive media control buttons and an HDMI output, making it look and feel a little dated.

Specification
  • Price as reviewed $799
  • Processor 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T5750
  • Memory 3GB DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz
  • Hard drive 250GB 5400rpm
  • Chipset Intel GMA X3100
  • Graphics Mobile Intel 965GM Express
  • Operating System Windows Vista Premium
  • Dimensions (WDH) 13.1x10.3x1.5 inches
  • Screen size (diagonal) 14.1
  • System weight / Weight with AC adapter 5.5 / 6.3 pounds
  • Category Mainstream
Because Dell has revised its 15 inch basic Inspiron chassis more recently than the 14 inch version, we end up with an unusual situation where the 1420 is actually a hair thicker than the larger Inspiron 1525. Still, it has a smaller footprint and is easier to tote around on a frequent basis than the bigger 15 inch version, which weighs 0.6 pound more.

The basic Dell laptop keyboard remains unchanged and is comfortable to type on, but the small square media control buttons look and feel dated compared with the touch sensitive versions found on even the cheapest non 14 inch Dell laptops.

The 14.1 inch wide screen LCD offers a 1.280x800 pixel native resolution, which is standard for budget minded mainstream systems, but may not offer enough screen real estate for busy students who need to have multiple windows open simultaneously. The configurable version available on the Dell Web site offers an upgrade to a higher 1.440x900 pixel resolution.
